Gillett Square

This film unfolds as a circular stroll taken by two people (acquaintances, siblings perhaps lovers?) across Gillett Square, East London. The couple's conduct remains ambiguous - both anticipated and followed by three cameras. Presented in form of three, slightly varied takes, in the square in which it was filmed, 'And the wanderers…' connects, in curious ways, life on and off screen.

Alice Theobald creates live performance, video, installation and music to actively explore the division between stage and life and the discrepancy between expression, appearance and feeling. In 2014 she undertook The Future Autumn Residency at Wysing Arts Centre where she will present new work in May 2015. In 2014 she presented 'I've said yes now, that's it.' for Chisenhale Gallery's Interim programme and in 2013 she completed the Gasworks International Performance Residency where she was consequently was invited on Triangle Arts Trust residency in Muscat, Oman. Selected past exhibitions/performances/screenings include 'Dear Luxembourg (yours bucktoothed grl)', Nosbaum Reding Projects, Luxembourg (2015); 'Too Much', Two Queens, Leicester (2014); 'Marmalade Me', South London Gallery (2014); 'I've said yes now, that's it.', Outpost, Norwich (2014); 'AFTER/HOURS/DROP/BOX', Modern Art Oxford, (2013); Spike Island, Bristol (2014); 'Young London', V22, London (2013); 'They Keep Putting Words In My Mouth!
